Research Exchange and Repository

We are currently in talks with a qualified academic in Hunza Valley. We hope that they will agree to become the Registrar of Research for us, in which capacity they will keep a register (online or offline) of the research that takes place in, around, about, for Hunza Valley.

In this Register, travelers can note their Name, Contact, and Research Title/Theme, as well as share Explanatory Notes.
In addition to the Register/Log, we will also facilitate a library where copies of such research and other creative works can be donated in electronic or paper/book forms, whether while the researcher is in the valley or after they have left.

A webpage/Wiki will also list content that is stored online, such as videos or documentaries. THIS wiki will also include ‘found’ content in the public domain, which means stuff that we found online but may not have obtained the express permission to share or list. We will, where needed, obtain such permissions.

All content will be logged or gathered only voluntarily on both sides, and the donor (researcher/ creative/ documentarian) can submit only part or whole of their project, with terms of sharing and contact specified by the party. We hope to keep things easy and simple.

If there is an organized program later for researchers, documentarians and creative persons, which has specific terms and conditions such as necessary donation of a creative work at the end, then that will be announced as such. This Register, for now, is only a voluntary effort.

MANY MUTUAL BENEFITS
This will create a rich repository of research for all interested to benefit from, and ensure that research is not ‘lost’, but is at hand for reference and utilization. This will facilitate fact-checking and referencing. Also, researchers and creative persons can connect with each other through the database, and augment each others’ work. The community can benefit tremendously from this resource. The youth and others can engage with the researchers, materials can be used for education or promotion, on terms as specified by the donor and agreed upon by the Registrar.

We hope to put an index of the research online through a Google Doc, and make it available to public to refer to. Not only it may attract travelers and other interest to the valleys, but also, the researchers themselves will find boost and possibly even support.

We see great potential in this, and look forward to your suggestions. Thank you.
